My film will relate to Vladimir Propps idea of there being a villain. In my film I have presented a character as a psychotic villain who ends up killing an innocent person who enters the Hotel. My film also links to Roland Barthes idea of there being enigma within the film as my film likes to play around with the thoughts of the viewers to keep them on the edge of their seats.
The realism of murder is being presented in my film. This film is fairly realistic with the use of a real knife and an abandoned building. The villain is being represented by all the darkness within the shadows of the building as well as the use of transition within the film make the villain seem more powerful. Once again, the villain is the stereotypical murderer who has mental health problems, which make him do things he shouldn’t. A typical horror generally involves the killer having serious mental health problems. The backing music has a strong effect on the film by making it much more intense for the people watching as it is very eerie due to the sound of the wind.
